LEGO Alpha Team

  • The game includes LEGO-style action
  • challenging puzzles
  • exciting devices
  • great graphics
  • one-player action

Product Description
The much-loved, interlocking, colored plastic pieces aren’t going to get caught in the vacuum cleaner or make the dog choke anymore. Presenting a series of challenging puzzles to tickle your brain and keep your fingers moving, LEGO ALPHA TEAM lets you control Dash and his Underlings as they try to squelch the evil plans of Ogel. Redirect your team by placing stairs, trampolines, chutes, Changer Tiles, and other pieces on the board. You’ll have a limited number of pieces on hand to complete each mission, making the action very difficult and the stress factor high. The game is full of great devices and items: two team members can seesaw or use anti-gravity generators, and there are explosive dynamite detonators, cutting lasers, and other items as well. A great blend of classic LEGO building and modern-day videogame action, LEGO ALPHA TEAM is a great way to give your brain a little bit of exercise and fun.

Amazon.com Review
Alpha Team throws puzzle after puzzle at players, and challenges them to guide a LEGO team through levels, rescue other LEGO team members, and open the level gate. The puzzles take quite a bit of thinking, and require the use of numerous devices, such as explosives and lasers.

Unfortunately, the graphics are quite small, and not very colorful–which isn’t a deal breaker, but does remove some of this title’s shine. Also, after players design a team member’s path through a level, they’re made to watch and see if their plan worked without interference.

Needless to say, this isn’t the most intense game around, but it’s a good diversion for puzzle lovers. –Robb Guido

Pros:

  • Solid number of LEGO devices and specially skilled team members
  • Well-designed puzzles

Cons:

  • Small graphics, and excessive amount of auto-controlled action
